In African fruit bats are considered to be the natural hosts of the Ebola virus.

How is human to human transmission of Ebola Virus occurring?

It is transmitted through direct contact with the blood secretions or bodily
fluids of an infected person or though exposure to objects (such as needles)
that have been contaminated with infected secretions Or other body fluids of
infected animals (chimpanzees, gorillas, monkeys, fruit bats etc) and humans who
are infected.

Ebola virus affects which Organs?
|
Ebola virus attacks
immune cells in the bloodstream, which carry the infection to the liver, spleen
and lymph nodes. Ebola blocks the release of interferon, a protein made by
immune cells for fighting viruses. Ebola virus is known as a
hemorrhagic fever virus it causes clotting problems lead to internal bleeding,
as blood leaks from small blood vessels in your body. The virus also causes
inflammation and tissue damage.

Fever, headache, joint and muscle aches, weakness, diarrhea, vomiting, stomach
pain, lack of appetite, and abnormal bleeding.

|
After exposure to ebolavirus symptoms appear Within 2 to 21 days (mostly between
8-10 days)

|
Persons (Health care workers, Friends and family members and mourners) who have a direct contact with
the bodies are at higher risk of infection

Can a person get EBVD from contaminated food or water?
|
No

Till now there is no specific treatment but intensive supportive care is given
to the patient to reduced Mortality and to stop the disease spread.

Two drugs are
approved for
treating Ebola: 1. Inmazeb is a mixture
of three monoclonal antibodies (atoltivimab, maftivimab, and odesivimab-ebgn).

(Ebanga) is a monoclonal antibody given as an injection.
